That means accross the board, including USDA! More revenue has never solved governments problems. They are about like most farmers, take in a new dollar and spend 2. It has to stop now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-65341786689052269032011-07-25T20:24:43.609-06:002011-07-25T20:24:43.609-06:00Gosh, where were all you conservatives when Bush ...Gosh, where were all you conservatives when Bush took a $600 B. surplus and turned it into a Trillion $ defecit. We gave the wealthy hugh tax cuts, started two wars & instituted a seniors prescription drug program without paying for any of it. Just how did you guys expect this to work? Social Security revenue has been making up for low income taxes since the middle 1980"s.
Corporations now only contribute 4% of the governments revenue while Social Security and individual income taxes each contribute 25%. Most of the rest (40%) is borrowed because we haven't been paying the income taxes necessary since the 1980's.
Social programs, including USDA, unemployment & health research consume 21% of the outlays. All this can be found on page 97 of the 2010, 1040 Instructions. Kick all those out and your still 19% short. I guess the next thing to do is stop paying the military and reduce the Soc. Sec. payments of all those retired farmers collecting $300 cash rent on their land. Of course that income is not taxed for Soc. Sec.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-21111878201160370762011-07-25T13:11:12.943-06:002011-07-25T13:11:12.943-06:00John I just got a call from the RNC asking for mor...John I just got a call from the RNC asking for more $. I told them I'd send them 2 Grants after the vote and if they held the line on Obama, otherwise they get nothin from me. I helped put them there last year to get spending under control w/o jacking up taxes. If they can't do what they promised then they can get their money from the moderate liberals like you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-31873069815505161142011-07-25T10:16:09.785-06:002011-07-25T10:16:09.785-06:00"KISS THEM GOODBYE"
John you have to be ..."KISS THEM GOODBYE"
John you have to be careful about the taste to the Murdoch kool-ade. The whole article from the Washington Post (owned by Murdoch) is pushing the far left agenda and is labeled "what if they stop pushing". While I do not disagree with what is in this article it's premise is that there can't be spending cuts only revenue increases. If we read what the more conservative news outlets are saying we hear a constant demand for spending cuts and some revenue increases.
So I expect we'll see dramatic spending cuts, the Bush "tax cuts" will be gone and we'll see tax rates adjusted. I also expect we'll see other tax loopholes closed. I also expect we'll see an admission that we are experiencing inflation at some rate above 2%.
What does that mean? A lower standard of living for all working individuals, including farmers. No more Cruises sir.VADAVEnoreply@blogger.com
