And it cost them the largest number of pink slips in modern history.<br />They are responsible for the TP revolution and now we may all have to pay for it.<br />A (snowballs chance of passing) balanced budget amendment may not be all bad. At least then we couldn't get the goodies by hiding the cost on the credit card. We would have to choose which goodies we need and who will pay for them - besides our childrens children.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-66101149505820215052011-07-29T19:04:20.293-06:002011-07-29T19:04:20.293-06:00Yup I agree John. Steve King of Iowa has screamed about excessive spending for a long time but when the USPS proposes closing a few money losing post offices in his district, these reductions are an absolute outrage and he promises he will fight to keep them open. Obama insists that this be extended to over a year and a half and for 2.4 trillion dollars. HE is the one who wants to get this past the election so he doesn't have to face the voters. Dem's are responsible for the biggest part of this spending debt and the voters know it. They are the ones that want to spend more not control spending. If the Repub's spend 1 x the Dem's have to spend 2 x and us voters are sick of it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-3010534864730806852011-07-27T15:20:15.930-06:002011-07-27T15:20:15.930-06:00Anon:

But the problem is, as many have noted, the minute it becomes "his" plan, Republicans stop listening. And if Boehner can't get a plan though the House, you think Obama will write one more acceptable? The only plan the TP will accept, I think, is an Obama rubber stamp on something they write or basically, capitulation.<br /><br />Besides, I thought legislators were supposed to legislate. He had a great opportunity to offer a plan of his own with spacifics. HE DIDN'T. This is not leadership. It is a pathetic excuse for on the job training (and failing) at being the most powerful man in the world.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-50273538767928540222011-07-26T20:48:31.542-06:002011-07-26T20:48:31.542-06:00If you only see projections you need to look at th...If you only see projections you need to look at the first chart a little closer. During the "Bush Years", 2002-2009, revenue was $1.812 trillion less due to the Bush tax cuts. Those aren't projections - that's the actual amount of tax revenues that we gave up by changing the tax code.Other Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-173963774964112262011-07-26T18:58:49.251-06:002011-07-26T18:58:49.251-06:00John, it seems that the facts you present are real...John, it seems that the facts you present are really starting to make some readers uncomfortable and one in this string accuses you of ranting? That's where - the math is relatively simple. Unless you're trying to make a case for the fact that the tax cuts have somehow spurred greater prosperity than the amount of revenue we've lost. If so, the burden of proof is on you - not on others to disprove your claim.Other Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-69023989839413207372011-07-26T13:27:47.977-06:002011-07-26T13:27:47.977-06:00Show me where revenues fell off because of the Bus...Show me where revenues fell off because of the Bush tax cuts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
