It would be very interesting to see graphically who is paying our taxes (what % is income, inheritance, corporate vs individual, broken down by income etc).

BrianAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-494912078180741292010-02-06T17:35:06.242-06:002010-02-06T17:35:06.242-06:00I think the biggest problem is, we are sending Dem...I think the biggest problem is, we are sending Dems., Repubs and Independents to represent US. Bout all they want to do is pad their retirement packages. What do lawyers know about economics and what do economist know about laws?? DC is turning into an oxymoron.Ol Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08104714377087960892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951078.post-55674497204707895022010-02-05T09:06:35.961-06:002010-02-05T09:06:35.961-06:00I think it is very interesting that half the peopl...I think it is very interesting that half the people surveyed (53% Rs and 47% Ds) think we can balance the budget without tax increases (or tax restorations, the same thing) or they just don't know. I would be interested to see the age demographic on this. I hope it is not the younger generation believing this, because then some Economics professors are not doing thier jobs.

Think back to the last time we had a budget surplus...then ask youself truthfully what were the main causes to wipe that out. I know the answer, and if you do not, then apparently the History professors are not doing their job either.

The other amazing thing is how close Rs and Ds are on these questions. A 5% - 10% swing in the middle of the graph is not that big of a chasm as one might have thought listening to the pundits.Jake in OHnoreply@blogger.com
