Goodbye and thanks...

I am halting this blog for the foreseeable future.  No regrets or complaints - just ran out of time.  I'm leaving it up for my own reference, but feel free to wander the archives.

Thank you for reading and your comments.  You have added much to my life.

Update (Sunday 8/15):  Nope, nope...this isn't working. Today, instead of a feeling of freedom and release, I found my normal surfing to be a total waste.  It turns out linking and commenting was just my way of processing information, oddly like the motto for my blog.  It's not I don't appreciate readers, but you guys weren't the underlying reason for the blog.

So on to Plan B:  I'm going to set some hard time limits, say 2 hours/day (when home). However much I get posted is what there will be, and the time freed up will be available for other stuff.

Thanks for the kind remarks, and I apologize for the virtual drama.

John, you will leave a sizable hole in my life. The day just won't be the same without my daily dose of whatever occurs to you as profound or whimsical.

Given the thoroughness of your work, however, I accept that you may need an indefinite break from the effort.

I will hold out hope that you will again take up pen and keyboard and search engine and original thinking.

John,,-- I like many others will miss your "blogs" and know you put a lot of thought , time and hard work into all of them . Sharing your life, family and farm has made all of us feel like a part of it and how it so relates too our own lives....as you move on may you continue to be blessed--regards-kevin

Though I haven't been a consistent reader of your posts, John, I have often referred to them when a subject of interest needed another perspective. Your insight has always been rewarding and educational. The entertainment value of the random subjects has also brought smiles and chuckles to my day on many occasions. I've marveled at your ability to maintain this with such thoughtful commentary. Be assured, I will continue to watch US Farm Report and maybe I'll catch one of your speaking engagements sometime.

My best,
Gary Anderson

Too slow to say I'll miss your blog, so I'm glad you reconsidered. But good luck with your self-imposed time limit on surfing. :-)

It will be hard if you make us go cold turkey. Please use a weaning plan for both your own satisfaction and that of your readers. I hope you still find time to add a new item now and then. I will keep coming back for a look see. A faithful reader of your blog.

John, Out of all the thousands of Blogs on line, yours is THE only one which I view consistently. I really don't have time to read all the farm magazines let alone blogs. Your concerns dovetail with mine, but you are much quicker to recognize and them & better @ analyzing. I'd hope to see you get sponsors & make this a profit center that you could safely do at home (v.s. being on the road).
Whatever you decide....Thank You Very Much for your efforts & sharing thus far.
My best wishes to you & your family.

Tony Martin
