With all this global warming, maybe the first frost will be real late...
Just 160 acres of beans left, but another quarter-inch shower slowed that process down. While I was beavering away at planting Wednesday afternoon, I watched a thunderstorm approach from the NW and then...stop.
As I kept moving across the field, my neighbor about 1 mile north disappeared in a gray curtain of rain, but the clouds just seemed to halt. Later that evening I found out friends to the NW about 20 miles enjoyed a 6-8" downpour.
Edgar County may have some of the ugliest fields in IL this year. Mine will be among them.
