Haven't done this is a while, but I can vouch for and highly recommend the following Great Courses (which you can download as a podcast for planting season)
- Before 1776: The American Colonies: Great info, good delivery, incredible voice.
- The American Revolution: all the war stuff, very little politics, superb delivery (although he gets a little weird with ll the "87th Foot, 79th Dragoons" detail) This guy loved this war!
- WW I: The Great War: Simply great. For Americans who have forgotten how this war shaped Europe, and why it was a really different war for Poland, Latvia, etc. Wonderful mix of detail and overview.
- The History of England from the Tudors to the Stuarts: This was one of my favorites, and I now have about 6 dozen places I want to see in Merry Ol'.

I fairness to yourself make sure you look at the case for faith, two great sources here from serious thinkers.
