While I have always been embarrassed by agriculture's brazen claims on federal dollars (It's only a sliver of a percent after all!), this map helps me understand why low-population Senators have no problem insisting on federal bucks for their acres.

A map of defense spending. I think a map of ag spending would make a good counterpoint. And of course, one must keep in mind, a map of federal dollar SOURCES would look very similar.
This is why I am an admirer of Sen. Dick Lugar. He is a US Senator first, an IN Senator second, and a Republican Senator third.
I agree with his priorities.
