John,
This confirms what I have been saying for years that if we had universal, affordable health insurance we would be amazed how much entrepenural spirit would be released in the U.S. To bad we have had to wait till age 65 & medicare to kick in.

The one thing keeping me from starting a business right now is health coverage.......can't give up the health insurance from a gov't job.

I have my indoor boots on so I didn't slog through the technicalities of the estate blog but I did catch on to their concern for lost revenue. I am in the distribution phase of my farming parents estate and even though they spent tens of thousands of dollars planning and insuring, the attorney and accountant have bill close to 75k for fees on settling the estate. The planning and expenses were to conserve the estate from taxes. So when people and columnists tell me that estate tax is a bogyman, I look at what was spent to avoid the tax and say, why is there yet a layer of taxes after death. My answer is, because of the greed of attorneys, accountants, and governments. Not the farmers who worked to leave a good start to their future generations.
