Ow...
So I'm replacing another toilet in my house for something to do. (Before they get down to two teaspoons per flush). Of course this involves several trips to my workshop about 100 yards away.
All morning a gentle, fluffy snow has fallen over our smooth glare of ice.
OK, after 4, yes 4! falls within about 30 feet, I'm shuffling along like, well...

John,
$10 to $20 will get you a pair of pull over ice grippers for your shoes/boots at your local hardware. My son gave me a pair for Christmas 2009. I hadn't put them on yet as of 1/2/10 and took a hard fall on my back. My wife made me go to the doctor after a week+. Nothing was broken, but I pulled muscles I never knew existed. It was six weeks before I could lay in a bed to sleep. This winter I am a bit smarter and put them on when it is slippery in the barn lot. It seems like it has been that way since Thanksgiving here in northern Indiana.

You win. Sorry to hear about your trials. From what Mike said on USFR this week, the outlook for a thaw is not so good either.
