Take the test...

Where do you stand politically?  Valid or not, here is my result from a now-typical online test.

Try it yourself.

[Thanks, Jan]

What! How can I possibly be left of center? I think this rating tool needs another set of criteria: How important an issue is to you. I think my opinions on some issues that I don't really care about that much might have pulled me hard left.

I agree with anonymous. There needs to be a neutral or n/a option. A few I was right in the middle, and a few were definately one over the other. Feel kinda bad, maybe I should retake it and not give my answers but the ones I should give.

Guys:

To be sure this is a made-up test. But what if we are shifting relative to who we think we have always been?

Has anybody been more to the right than they expected?

Well, I scored left of center and below center as well...which did surprise me. I have always considered myself a political conservative and a social liberal. I have never been in favor of Big Government though, whatever party is pushing that agenda at the moment. So, maybe 1) the test shows where I really stand, and 2)maybe what I believe is different from what I believe I believe, or 3)the test is just faulty. I am old enough to realize that I may have been deluding myself about where I stand on the scale... Bill

The test has been around for a long time and the vast majority of the people that take the test end up right about where John did.

For fun, I took the test and answered every single question with a strongly disagree. Guess where I ended up. Libertarian leaning and dead center on the left to right axis.

Took it again and strongly agreed with everything. Still exactly centered on the left right axis. But this time leaning authoritarian.
