Our roof has been replaced. The satellite dish has been re-pointed (on a Sunday!) and we are back online.
I'm not kidding. Jan and I both had some serious Internet-deprivation issues.

I totally know what you mean by serious Internet deprivation. Our house in Miami got ravaged by a terrible hurricane last year, and we had to make renovations. Our Internet connection got ruined too, thanks to the huge branch that fell on our roof and destroyed the satellite dish. Good thing we were able to contact our roofing company right away. They replaced the whole thing with a metal roof. As for our Internet connection, our provider was only able to restore it after 10 days. It was HARD, I'm telling you.
